E-FR MTB Frame (Travel: 170-180mm)
MK’s E-freeride MTB frame is designed for aggressive gravity riding on natural mountain terrain, where steep lines, big drops, and rough features define the ride. Electric assistance makes it easier for riders to climb back up after each descent, allowing them to spend more time riding downhill and less time pushing or shuttling.
This e-bike MTB frame is designed for electric freeride riding, where downhill performance comes first and the motor is mainly used to get back uphill between runs. The key frame characteristics below show how the frame is built to handle heavy impacts, added system weight, and the demands of aggressive gravity riding.
Built to Withstand Hard Impacts
Freeride terrain involves repeated drops, heavy landings, and aggressive trail features. The frame uses reinforced aluminum construction (AA-6061 / 6066 / 6069) and a strengthened rear triangle to handle these high-impact loads reliably, even with the added weight of an electric system.
Long-Travel Suspension for Gravity Riding
With 170-180mm of rear travel, the suspension layout is intended to absorb deep compression and large obstacles commonly found on freeride lines. The kinematics layout helps the bike remain composed during heavy landings and successive impacts, supporting control through demanding downhill sections.
Motor Assistance for Uphill Access
The integrated mid-drive motor system helps riders climb back uphill after each descent, reducing the need for lifts or shuttle support. This allows freeride sessions to include multiple downhill runs in a single ride.
Integrated Motor & Battery Structure
The motor is mounted at the bottom bracket area, while the battery is housed inside the downtube, allowing both components to sit low and central within the frame. This placement helps distribute system weight more evenly, improving stability and balance during downhill riding. At the same time, integrating these drive components into the frame structure protects them from impact exposure.
Flexible Configuration for Freeride Builds
Support for multiple wheel size configurations, drivetrain standards, and component options allows the frame to be adapted for different freeride preferences and brand requirements. Customization details, including cable routing, tire clearance, welding style, and suspension setup, enable tailored builds without changing the frame’s core freeride character.
MK’s e-bike MTB frame for freeriding provides a durable, gravity-focused foundation for electric freeride bikes built to tackle steep terrain and repeated descents. Contact us to discuss E-FR frame customization or project requirements.
